The concept of human connection was readily apparent today; I had reason to attend a memorial service today and was struck by something. Every single person in attendance, whether they knew this person well or had brief interactions, had been effected by the individual in some way. It struck me that all my interactions (even with strangers) have an impact; a fact so many are blind to. Indeed, a random act of kindness can brighten an otherwise dark world and bring joy to others when they need it the most. We never know what effect will we have; as stated, I firmly believe you reap what you sow. If good is to be received; it must be put out. This does not require being a saint, but the litmus test comes with personal conflict, “Am I treating my fellows with unconditional love or hate?” How often does a hug, a listening ear, or kind advice bring happiness to one’s day. In this world of judgment and chaos, these things are indispensable. We each have the ability to put forth light or darkness in this world; there is no better time than the present to let your light shine.
